Fi-Yah!!

A while ago Tyler and I decided to turn our sandbox into a fire pit. We bought some concrete rings and placed them in the center, and Tyler filled in the rest of the box with rocks. We haven't got around to using it yet, but when we finally get a weekend off we're looking forward to roasting some mallows around the fire!

I am grateful for...

... a statistics teacher who respects the fact that we all have busy lives, and gives us time in class to complete our homework. Bless you!!

For Dad

As a delayed Father's Day tribute (and in response to a request!), I wanted to share some things that I love best about my dad.

1) He is incredibly supportive. No matter what I have pursued, he has been behind me 150%. From driving me to youth symphony every week when I was little to finding a way to get me a new viola when I was in college to flying the whole family out to Cincinnati to support me at my masters graduation, he's been cheering me on the whole way.

2) He loves his family. Granted, sometimes he has funny relationships with some of them (he and Joni seem more like siblings), he loves having family around and always invites me and Tyler over for Sunday dinner (as long as we bring green jello!).

3) He is the epitome of selflessness. Everything he does is an act of service. He works tirelessly day in and day out to support his family and serve others. He is so great at working with his school kids and troubled youth. He is always helping us out as well, either helping us build our grape trellis or hauling away our cut grass or anything else. I can also remember times when I was a college student (oh wait, I still am!) up late working on homework and he would bring by a blizzard or pizza or something else to keep me going.

4) He is friendly. There are very few people in Rexburg that don't know and love my dad. He loves talking to people, and I'm always running into people who have had great conversations with him.

5) He is my friend. He calls me up every once in a while just to see how I'm doing, and he makes sure I'm not working too hard (which is something that he needs to work on also!).

So there you go. Those of you who know my dad can probably think of even more, but here are just a few great things about him. I love you Dad!!

Happy Anniversary!

Two years ago today Tyler and I were married in the Idaho Falls Temple! It was a wonderful day, and it has only gotten better! Tyler is such an amazing person, and he teaches me so much. I am definitely a better person because of him. He has been so supportive of me as I've been in class every night and working on homework every day. Even with his busy work schedule and church calling, he has been helping me with a lot of the housework. What an amazing guy. I love him to pieces!!!

Little Tattletales

My students are hilarious. I always end up find little tidbits of information that I'm pretty sure their parents' don't want broadcasted:

"My mom's pretty tired. She's pregnant, but she doesn't want anyone to know yet."

"We have someone clean our house once a week because my mom doesn't like to do it."

"My mom and dad sleep in seperate bedrooms because my dad snores a lot."

It's always entertaining!
