This is a 100% accurate description of our house, times two. I am amazed at how our house can be trashed within minutes of them waking up! I sure love my boys though. There are so many things I want to remember about our life right now. Some that I'd like to forget, but most things I want to remember.
A few updates on Isaac:
- He's a talking machine. I've lost count of how many words he knows, but he's talking in short sentences and likes to narrate everything we do. "Trees!" "A bee!" (his word for any insect) "Ball!" (anything round) "apple!" (any fruit/vegetable)
- He's going to toddler lab on campus and loves it! He missed one day last week because he was sick and when we returned the next time he was jumping up and down with excitement. He's also a pro at nursery.
- Still loves reading. He pretends to spell out the letters of the title, and "reads" me the story frequently.
- He is a blankie kid. Not any specific one, although he likes the minkie type material the best. He holds onto the corner and sniffs/sucks on it. It's very sweet.
- He's a night owl! He takes forever to fall asleep and will often stay up in his crib talking to himself, and he'll sleep in pretty late if I let him.
- Isaac is a very good boy, but he definitely has a sassy streak. His latest naughty behavior is yelling "mine!" (usually at Hunter) or throwing his food or cup and spitting. It's awesome...
- Still loves his liquids. He'll drink a gallon a day if I let him, but he's not picky on the type. He gets lots of water.
- Loves to swing, but is not a big fan of the slide.
Hunter updates:
- He is a wild animal from the second he wakes up. He basically runs wherever he goes, and often goes crashing to the ground because he's trying to run in three different directions. He cannot stay still, and we are counting down the weeks until nursery. He has so much energy and zest for life!
- He's still my sensitive boy, and can get his feelings hurt easily, but he's much sturdier now. Learning to walk really helped his confidence, and now he can stand up to Isaac much better (and is often the bully in the house).
- He's finally starting to talk a bit more, but it's slow going. His babbles are more conversational, and he's building his vocabulary list.
- He's really gotten into books lately, and he'll sit on my lap through 3 or 4 books. I think he just really likes the sound of my voice. He will also lay on my shoulder while I sing or tell stories forever.
- He's a champion sleeper at night. Isaac and Hunter share a room, and he sleeps right through Isaac's theatrics at bedtime.
- Hunter has gotten to be pretty social. He shamelessly flirts with women, and he walks up to men but then gets shy and grins and runs away. He gets lots of social practice as he's running away from me at church.
- I've loved spending a bit of one-on-one time with Hunter while Isaac is at toddler lab. We watch Isaac for a while, then we stroll around campus.
They are both still napping like champs, which is awesome. We love to go outside or to the store, and we are all very sad that the weather is changing. I get asked multiple times a day if they are twins, and since they feed off of each other's crazy energy and yell and scream we turn heads wherever we go. I love my boys so much, and I can't imagine life without them!
